Abstract

Biology is a subject directly related to everyday life and requires an understanding of the concept. Therefore, the learning process requires a biological approaches, strategies, methods, and media-related learning with the real world so that students can understand the concepts and learning becomes more meaningful. One of the learning strategies that can help the understanding of the concept as well as activities to direct and stimulate students' thinking is through the use of learning modules accompanied concept map. The aims of this research is to develop a module oriented science technology society on the topic of biotechnology. This Biology Module developed using 4-D models. The results shows that, the modules are very valid with a value of 81.09%. The value of practicalities by teachers are 82.7%, and the value of practicalities by students are 85.5%. The effectiveness of the module can be seen from the motivation of students, activities, and student learning outcomes. It is concluded that the biology module oriented science technology society (STS) accompanied concept map on the topic of biotechnology for junior high school was valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

The low value of the students in the subjects of biology at Madrasah Aliyah Sumpur seen some of the factors that affect the learning outcomes one of which is the learning process. The learning process is one of the critical success factors in learning. To obtain a good learning must be supported by a good learning process and effective. In addition, the learning often occurs in terms of issues such as teachers, students, facilities, and infrastructure. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Data validity checking technique used is the technique of triangulation. The data were analyzed qualitatively. Based on the results of analysis of the learning process can be concluded as follows (1) Planning Learning in terms of the format is in accordance with aspects of assessment in the IPKG-1. Based on the study of documentation in terms of content, learning Implementation Plan (RPP) is not in accordance with the syllabus (2) The general teaching is in conformity with the appraisal aspect IPKG-2 (3) assessment / evaluation of learning is done in the capture of the cognitive aspects of the value daily tests. Affective and psychomotor assessments taken from the attitude and skills of the student assessment for learning (4) learning problems that occur specifically in learning biological medium category (2.23). The problem there in terms of teachers, students, facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

This research based on the previous observation and interview which was done at STAIN Kerinci, it was found that learning materials used in teaching plants physiology did not help much in constructing students’ knowledge.  This research was a developmental research which used 4-D models consisting of define, design, develop and disseminate. After the module had been designed, it was validated by four validators. To see the practicality of the module, the researcher tried out the module to VI B Biology Education students                                  of STAIN Kerinci. This activity was observed by an observer.                                                            The effectiveness test of the module is tried out to VI A Biology education students of STAIN Kerinci.  The result of the validation test showed that the constructivism-oriented module with mind map was very valid either content and construct. Based on the result of the data practicality showed that the module was practical to be used in teaching plants physiology. The module was also effective; it is showed through the improvement of student activity, motivation and achievement.

Abstract

Biology is one of the subjects related with natural science. In the subject of this biology, there are important concepts that must students to know. However, not all the materials can be understood by students. So to help them needed media to learning, such as module that could help improving their activities and student learning outcomes, The fact in SMA Negeri 1 Bukit Sundi Kabupaten Solok.  Based on this problem, this research aim to develop  valid, practical, and effective of module with mind map in the biology learning based on Quantum Teaching. This module is developed with 4-D models. Based on the research result, known that the learning module with obtaining an average 88,40 % is very valid category. The practicalities of module by teachers obtaining an average  90,73% is very practical category. The practicalities of module by student obtaining an average 83,20% is very practical category. Effectiveness of the module could be seen from the learning student activities, and student learning outcomes consisting of the result of cognitive and affective learning that showed mastery exceed the minimum mastery criteria, This research  can be concluded that the module with Peta pikiran in the biology learning based on Quantum Teaching on respiratory system and excretion  for grade XI student in Senior High School is valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

The research aims at producing module containing caracter education which are valid, practical and effective. The research was development research by using 4D models, namely 1) define (specify material) 2) design 3) develop 4) dessiminate (spread). The research only conducted until develop stage due to the limitation of time, fund and power. Subject trial to develop the module was XI grade student at SMAN 2 Padang. The reason for choosing the subject was the pilot schools suit the researcher's need and the school didn't use the module yet. Result module validity development which achieved 78,70% meaning that the module was valid to be used. Average module practicalities that achieved 87%  meant that the module was practical. Average student's practicalities achievement were 86,76% and also considered that it was practical to be used in learning process. Averages tudent's activity achieved 74,4% from five categories observed and it meant that students were active in learning process. Cognitive assesments of test result showed that there were 92% students can solve the problems. Result product module character building education in human reproductive system in XI grade senior high school valid to be used, practical, effective.
