Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity was to train students’ public speaking skills to perform presentation at seminar proposal and research result seminar. This training was based on the low performance of students’ public speaking when performed in seminar presentation for both proposal or result seminars. The implementation for this training program focused on practiced rather than theory of public speaking. The reference for this training started with the introduction and filling out the survey regarding their goals and expectations for participating in this training, then proceed with the presentation of tips and tricks to become a presenter by practicing public speaking method which was called ‘1 minute challenge’. After that, there was evaluation from that practice, and lastly at the end of the training the participants presented full seminar presentation for proposal or result seminar. The result of this study showed the enthusiasm of the training participants, who from the beginning to the end showed their active participations. The method was used in this training which focused on practiced rather than theory proved that effective

Abstract

Training in writing scientific articles is one of the things that is very important for final semester students to know. The publication of scientific articles is one of the requirements that must be met by final semester students before they advance for the final exam. But based on preliminary observations with several final semester students, it turns out that there are still many of them who don't know how to write scientific articles. Some of them even think that writing scientific articles is the same as writing ordinary paper assignments. Based on these findings, it is necessary to hold scientific article writing training for final semester students. This community service used a descriptive method. It is hoped that this scientific article writing training can help final semester students to write and publish their scientific articles, so that they can fulfill one of the pre-requirements for graduating from their studies.

Abstract

Test of English Foreign Language (TOEFL) and Try-out training is one of Megarezky University's programs as a requirement for student graduation for the final completion of studies that must meet the graduation standards of Megarezky University students, requirements for continuing to a higher level of education, work entry requirements and even used in promotion. The target in this Community Service activity is students of the PHARMACIST Study Program, Faculty of Pharmacy, Megarezky University with a total of 9 students. This activity lasted for nine hours. The implementation of this training uses methods, lectures, try-outs, and audio-visuals.In the lecture method, the PKM team explained the theory of how to answer TOEFL questions in Listening, Structure, and Reading activities. The Try-out method of doing the TOEFL TEST is related to the material that has been presented in the training activities. The results of the try out can be seen the score score of the PHARMACIST students of Megarezky University directly, then return to provide a discussion of the test questions on each skill. This training provides an overview to UNIMERZ PHARMACIST students when completing the TOEFL test. So they can pass with a TOEFL score that matches the standard.

Abstract

The research aims to see how important it is to create online social media accounts for alley SMEs and also how big the influence of social media marketing is on the marketing of alley UKM businesses. From the results, the researchers found that alley SMEs really needed marketing social media accounts so they could help do online marketing. Because it is felt that online marketing is an effective alternative way that will have a positive impact on increasing sales.

Abstract

Socialization about the Effect of Oxidative Stress on Obese People in Adolescent Age in Balangtanaya Village, North Polongbabgkeng, Takalar Regency is one of the Tridharma of Higher Education, namely community service. This activity aims to educate the people of Balangtanaya Village about how to exercise according to their needs, namely with intensity that considers age, gender and physical activity. Especially teenagers who tend to do excessive physical activity. This is what can result in oxidative stress. Exercise regularly by paying attention to the Body Mass Index (BMI) in order to control body weight to remain in the normal category. The solution offered to the community is expected to provide benefits so that the residents of Balangtanaya Village understand the portion of each physical activity carried out. Exercising with moderate intensity but long duration can be a solution in preventing the production of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) or known as free radicals in the body. Exercising regularly and consuming foods or fruits that contain antioxidants are the solutions offered at this activity.

Abstract

Socialization of Coaching Clinic Tennis Court Supervision for Students of FKIP Study Program of Megarezky University is a form of community service from lecturers of the faculty of sports science in order to carry out the tri dharma of higher education. by providing short training provided by lecturers who are also nationally certified court tennis coaches. Students who take part in this training are expected to be able to apply the knowledge of court tennis supervision obtained from this coaching clinic event so that the goal of improving the quality of matches can be achieved. This socialization and coaching clinic event consists of 2 sessions, namely a theory session, namely the provision of game rules theory and court tennis supervision by lecturers to students who follow which is carried out indoors, and a practical session which is the application of the guardianship theory that has been given in the field. The trainees were very enthusiastic about participating in this coaching clinic because they were faced with direct practice with the expert. By implementing this coaching clinic, it is hoped that it will be able to improve the quality of students' understanding of the rules of the game and tennis court supervision

Abstract

Global competition in various fields demands adequate and accountable skill and academic competence expertise. In the world of education, various efforts have been tried to prepare for this global competition, which is very meaningful to produce graduates who are able to compete to continue to the Learning level and in the world of work. The goal to be achieved in this Community Service activity is to provide effective integrated TOEFL Tips & Tricks Training to improve English mastery skills for OUR Organization Members. At the beginning of the activity, participants conducted a pre-test with test material for TOEFL Tips & Tricks Training test. The training is divided into three basic skills, namely, Listening, Structure and Written Expression, and Reading Comprehension. Listening and Reading material is given in three training sessions, while Structure & Written Expression material is given in four meeting sessions. Each session is held for 90 minutes with a balance of theory and practice in the form of doing practice questions. The results of this community service activity received a positive response from the D4 Medical Laboratory Technology Study Program as the Study Program that houses OUR Organization. The form of positive response can be seen, among others, from active participation, both from the head of the Study Program and the administrators of our Organization as well as from the training participants.

Abstract

Globalization is a challenge for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to survive. Information Technology, especially social media, offers benefits for SMEs to improve their marketing. This Community service was conducted to identify the use of social media and its benefits to SMEs in Lorong 310 in Mariso Village, Makassar City. From the results, the researchers found that alley 310 UKM actors had not maximized existing social media so that this activity was expected to educate Lorong-based UKM actors.
